As an environmental and socially responsible business we recognise that our business has an important role to play in protecting and enhancing the environment for future generations, and to help secure the long term sustainability of the tourism industry. To this end, Eaton Hotel Hong Kong is committed to taking action:

- To achieve sound environmental practices and social policies across our entire organization

- To minimise our consumption of energy, water and raw materials

- To fully comply with all environmental legislation

- To minimise our waste production and to reduce, reuse and recycle materials consumed wherever possible

- To benchmark annual performance using EarthCheck™ to ensure credible and transparent 3rd party reporting

- To invite our customers, suppliers and partners to participate in our efforts to protect the environment

- Where we can, we will work with others in the tourism industry, in public agencies and the community to achieve wider environmental goals

- To provide our colleagues with training and resources required to meet our CSR objectives

- To openly communicate our policies and practices to interested parties

- To monitor, record, evaluate, report on performance with a view of continuous improvement overtime

As key stakeholders in the Tourism industry we acknowledge our dependency on the environment and the need to adopt an internationally recognized framework to manage potential risks that may arise. We have therefore formed a partnership with EC3 Global to adopt the EarthCheck benchmarking and certification program. EarthCheck is an internationally recognized program specific to the Travel and Tourism Industry, based on Agenda 21 principals for Sustainable Development.

By adopting this program Eaton Hotel Hong Kong is able to improve overall environmental performance, enhance community interactions and promotes financial savings through more efficient use of resources. Key areas identified by the hotel for continual improvement include the following


• Greenhouse gas emissions
• Energy efficiency, conservation and management
• Management of freshwater resources
• Ecosystem conservation and management
• Management of social and cultural issues
• Land use planning and management
• Air quality protection and noise control
• Waste water management
• Solid waste management
• Storage of environmentally harmful substances

To deliver on our commitments we have embedded sustainability into the brand as a key brand message. This maximizes the hotels ability to empower our stakeholders and community members whilst leading by example. Eaton’s ongoing partnership with the Foodlink Foundation, Home of Love and annual community service programs enables the hotel to drive awareness, educate our local community and colleagues whilst helping to building sustainable communities. Through our Guests of the Earth Program Eaton Hotel Hong Kong remains committed to providing its guests and partners with an essential hospitality experience in an internationally endorsed facility.
